Křivoklát

Křivoklát is one of the oldest and most important medieval castles of Czech princes and kings. It is located at an altitude of 285–290 meters on a rocky promontory above the Rakovnický stream, a tributary of the Berounka River on the territory of the Křivoklát township in the Rakovník District in the Central Bohemian Region. The castle is owned by the Czech Republic and is open to the public. Since 1958 it has been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic [1] and in 1989 it was listed as a national cultural monument of the Czech Republic. Its administration and public access is provided by the National Heritage Institute.
